Mechatherm have completed the successful start up of the 2nd 340,000 lbs (154T) tilting holding furnace at Logan Aluminum in Kentucky. The installation was completed on schedule and has completed all the performance and operational tests. The furnaces incorporate the latest cold air low NOx burners designed to achieve the tight environmental limitations imposed on the project. The furnaces were designed to the highest health and safety standards from an operational and technical perspective. A state of the art automation system comprising the latest Rockwell PLC technology was supplied to ensure the furnaces were operator friendly and easy to use for maintenance and diagnostics.
