Mechatherm ‘Accu-Cast’ billet molds a success!
Mechatherm are pleased to announce that it has now successfully completed its final development and production trials on its new ‘Accu-Cast’ billet casting molds at Florida Extrusions, USA.
The tests were completed over a two week casting period without modification to any existing casting parameters other than the integration of ‘Accu-Set II’ Florida extrusions were very impressed with the results and now require a new casting cable and a mold package to integrate in to an existing table.

Mechatherm ‘Accu-Set II’ fully automated individual billet mold air flow air control system a success!
Mechatherm/RJC Incorporated are pleased to announce that it has now successfully completed its development and production trials on its new ‘Accu-Set II’ air flow ‘Air cast’ system at Florida Extrusions, USA. The system is designed to give fully automated individual casting air flow control for each mold independent of each other, the system automatically compensates for continually differing back pressure in each mold.
The system was fully tested on an existing operational 28 way 203mm (8”) diameter billet with excellent results over a two week casting period. From the successful results Florida Extrusions is now interested in purchasing a new dedicated system.
Mechatherm/RJC Incorporated are now in a position to offer ‘Accu-Set II’ as part of a new ‘Accu-Cast’ mold package or as a Retro-Fit to any existing casting table.
The system will offer the following advantages:
- Provide individual gas flow measurement for each mold independent from each other.
- Compensation for temperature and pressure fluctuations.
- Fully automated gas flow adjustment through complete cast including cast start.
- No manual operator involvement to adjust gas flow settings at table resulting in a much safer operating environment.
- Data available for SCADA system analysis.
- Much reduced dross formation in molds resulting in reduced operator access.
- Improved billet surface finish.

Mechatherm is pleased to announce that it is now marketing air / oil lubricated casting molds and mold tables for VDC billet casting machines.
Mechatherm has supplied many VDC casting machines over the years but has only been able to offer our clients conventional "Hot top" mold tables, until now.
