The latest stage in Alcoa's on-going modernisation of its plant in Banbury, England, has seen the installation of a new billet casting machine and an associated water cooling system. This article describes the new facility which has a capacity of 80,000 tonnes per year.

Over the last two years, Aluminium Times has chronicled the progress of the modernisation of Alcoa Europe's Extrusion & End Products business unit in Banbury, England. This plant, said to be the largest of its type in Europe, houses six extrusion presses, the largest of which is rated at 3,150 tonnes.....

Current orders on Mechatherm's books include a similar capacity melting and holding furnace combination to the one described above for another new plant in Thailand and a new plant being built in Dubai....
